The Garland Fire Fighters Association was established on January 18, 1958 with 24 charter members. This charter is displayed at the GFFA headquarters. History is important to us because it guides us into the future.

Today the Garland Fire Fighters Associaton has a membership of 221.  87% of the sworn members of the Garland Fire Department our valued members. 

Activities of the GFFA include our work through Galand Fire Fighters Associaton Charities Corporation.  Each year we raise money through a Raffle, Charity Golf Tournament, and receive some member and corporate contributions to our Charity Fund.  For the past 20 years we have provided Christmas to underprevileged Garland children.  This past Christmas we shopped for 65 children at Target spending $130 per child.  We sent money to the Katrina Fire Fighter Relief Effort. We supported many other projects that were brought to the membership throught the Charities Committee.

Our office is located in historic down town Galand, just accross the street from old Central Fire Station, vacant since 1967. (current home to BSA troop 100)  We are at 111 S. Sixth St.

Our Goal:  The safest environment for our Fire Fighters on the job.  Fair compensation/benefits for our members.  Serve the citizens of Galand in the best manner possible (Customer Service). Be a organization that fosters fraternity and brotherhood for our members.
